Dad just did that thing where he says Arts students have it easy because we don’t have labs and the work is easier. His reasoning: when he was in uni, he knew all sorts of English and PoliSci, etc. students would just sit and play cards at school. Did you ever stop to think that maybe they were just really smart and didn’t need to work too hard because they got it? Seriously, I’m getting fucking pissed off at science snobs. That is what Mum and I are calling them. And no, for once, I’m not being hypocritical. I do not claim that Arts are harder than Science. I acknowledge that Sciences are hard. I know, I’ve been there. But they are not harder or easier than Arts. Everyone has difficulties with different degrees. I found Sciences harder than Arts because I’m not as good at Sciences as I am at Arts. Therefore, I had to work way harder just to understand a simple concept. I know Science is hard. But Arts is hard, too, in a different way. Science was hard to survive, Arts is hard to succeed. The two terms are very different. The reciprocal is true for an average Science student – Arts are hard to survive for them, Science is hard to succeed.
So seriously, use your fucking brain. Just accept the fact that University in general is hard, no matter what you’re doing.
This is not the way I wanted to start off my morning. Not on Hallowe’en.
Sidenote: Mom decided to carve Death from Slightly Damned. The design provided was a little small though, so she added a neck, wing and hand to make him look like a dragon. It turned out pretty awesome, actually. I’ll take pictures and post them later tonight when it’s lit.

For Stephanie:

I think my right ear might be infected (not the piercings, the actual ear). It’s aching and it feels vaguely similar to the ear infection I had in grade 1, only not as extreme. I dunno, I’ll wait a while. It only aches very vaguely every once in a while. I’ll know if it’s infected or not in time. It would be really lame if it was.

Yesterday was just stupid. Though, we did finish the biggest, hardest chunk of our Spenser seminar. That was good. It took us three hours. That was not so good. Then, we waited for the 6pm 97. Only to have him inform us that he’s only going to Orchard Park, as opposed to all the way to Queensway like he’s supposed to. So we get on and head to Orchard Park at least so we can get somewhere. The bus was really, really creaky and Steph and I decided that everything was made of plastic and that if the top floor of the bus fell on us, not even the seats would save us. Because their supports are plastic. Anyway, turns out there was a bus coming one minute after we arrived at the mall. So we took that (I think it was the… 10. Whatever). So it’s a pretty packed bus, but we get a seat at the back. Well everything’s going alright I guess, until OH. A police car is chasing someone. That someone cut the bus off which meant we had to stop really fast. Really fast. We thought we actually hit the car, but we didn’t. The poor guy sitting in the middle of the back seats at the bus went flying. Steph and I were sitting sideways, so she just got crushed against me and my arm felt the fury of the edge of the seat next to me. On top of that, the door wasn’t really opening when it was supposed to and the stop request wire wasn’t working (as in making sound). We finally got to Queensway and the 21 that was supposed to come at 6:45 didn’t. So we waited for I don’t know how long in the cold until finally a 21 came. I think I got home around 7:15-7:20pm. Then dinner and stuff, so I didn’t actually get to start reading more Brick Lane until like 8:20.
And the entire time this took place, I had to pee. Really bad. But couldn’t during a stop or else we’d miss our precious connections.
I need to read 90 pages before 2pm today. That means reading on the bus and ignoring my friends when they get to the room (if I’m not done by then).
Shiny Toy Guns has a new single. “Ricochet”. No opinion yet.
lol, Video On Trial has its 100th episode on Monday. Awesome.
K, time to go to school.
[2:02pm]
IT HAPPENED AGAIN.
I stayed up late last night and spent my entire break today reading Brick Lane and finished about an hour before class. I didn’t get to read Benhabib & Butler because I just didn’t have time so I didn’t bother. Got to class, she forgot the test. She had to rewrite it today and then forgot it. So the test has moved to Monday. This is good because now I can read Benhabib & Butler, but… UUUUUURG I SPENT ALL THAT TIME READING THE BOOK AGAIN! I’m not as angry as I was with Midnight’s Children, though. But still. Yeah. I stressed out hardcore for nothing. Stressing out and actually getting to take a test feels so much better than being stressed out and finding out that you were stressed out for nothing. SIGH.
Whatever. No test. That’s super awesome. CONFLICTING EMOTIONS.
Now I can think of what to write for my Japanese blog. Hoihoi.
By the way, best character in Breath of Fire 2 EVER. I forgot he existed.

OH. MAN. Today’s House was friggin’ intense. OH. MAN. OH MAAAAAAAAAAAAAN. Though I called the first thing totally and I knew the second thing would happen, I just didn’t know when. STILL. INTENSE.
I just saw the opening to today’s Fringe episode. Don’t cut to the opening sequence before showing me the mutant baby. Just show me. Gawd.
-sigh- 220 pages to go in Brick Lane.
[10:05pm]
I have that feeling in the pit of my stomach again. That feeling of anxiety that won’t go away and makes me feel sick to my stomach, dizzy. It’s the most uncomfortable feeling to lie down in bed and try to fall asleep to. Well, one of the most. The most has still been that time where I woke up in spontaneous pain for no reason.
Sometimes I don’t understand this body or its brain.

On Wednesday from 11-2pm, the Lit Society (or whatever) will be selling smokies in the courtyard. At 2:30pm, we will have the opportunity to throw pies at six(ish) of our English professors. One of them will be Lawrence, our Shaxpur professor.
Guuuys? I think we need to stay after school on Wednesday so we can pie our professors. Maybe we can pie Eggleston and Milton. OMG I WOULD LOVE TO PIE REEVES. But something tells me she’s too proper to volunteer. Too proper and too wrapped up in Demers.
Anyway, I don’t know if Cam can stay ’cause he works on Wednesdays (though we could catch the bus at 3 and he could get home for 4 and still make it to work on time.
So uh… let’s pie our profs, k? K? :D
[10:03am]
So some of my profs for next term changed around; I looked them up on ratemyprofessors.com. They all look to be good! Thank God. Also, I have the same prof (Christine Schreyer) for both of my Anth courses next term, and they are right after each other, separated by a one hour gap. And she has super awesome reviews. SO, IF there is no class after my Phonology class during that hour, I can just stay in that classroom (assuming there is an outlet) until Sociolinguistics. :3! I’m excited for next term. I’m excited that it won’t be HELL like this term (I hope). Also, Sharon Thesen (creative writing) has excellent reviews and Angel said that her friend had Nancy and hated it; also, Angel had Thesen and really liked her. Apparently my English prof next term is a really hard marker, but his lectures and stuff are excellent. And then there’s Nina. Well I’ll have had Nina for three semesters by then so there really can’t be an surprises. And I like Nina. NINA YOU MAH HOMEGURL<3. Yeah k that’s weird, no.
Anyway. I’m excited for the good profs and the drastic reduction of English. ^-^
[2:00pm]
So the protest guy was out again today and Steph and I finally had our chance to write our own protest for him to… protest. We wrote “NO MEANS YES!” Apparently (Sarika overheard) it was a hit and people thought it was “awesome.” STEPHANIE, WE’RE AWESOME.
[10:32pm]
This video makes me laugh like fucking hell.
Also, his website is also hilarious.

I’ve decided that when I go traveling, one of the stops I would like to make is Cambodia. I do so dearly wish to see Angkor Wat. Trees have grown on top of parts of the temple. You know what that means, guys? IT MEANS THEY ALMOST HAVE A GARDEN ON THE ROOF. And it’s fuckin’ pretty. And epic huge. Yep. Goin’ there. Def.
[11:43pm]
Jenny’s been in the hospital for almost a week. I have to wait until tomorrow to get a reply from her. Wondering why will probably make my sleep tonight shitty.

I might make a Slightly Damned jack-o-lantern this year, if Mom will let me (since we only have one pumpkin). Not sure which design to do yet. Teetering between Buwaro, Rhea, and Death. I like that out of the three, Rhea looks most evil. If I do Buwaro, if there’s room on the pumpkin, I want to add Thadius in the corner with a heart or something.
Useless musings.
Apparently, my black bra has disappeared :( I can’t afford to lose bras. I only have three really good ones. And they’re expensive. But we have no friggin’ clue where it went. This is upsetting. I have no clue where it is. I scoured my closet, my dresser, it didn’t get stuck in with Mom’s bras by accident, it isn’t down here in my box… :’(
So I’ve decided, come hell or high water, I am going to exercise every weekend. That being said, I don’t feel like reading when I do it today, so I think I’ll play a game. I just don’t know what to play. I could finish Ocarina of Time, but I doubt that will take me an hour. I just need to refill my bottles with some fairies and beat Ganondorf. I could play Dark Cloud 2, but all I can really do is level up ’cause… well I can’t remember what I was doing, and I need my computer for photo lists. Because there’s no way I’ll find them all myself (though I do a fairly good job- I WANT PERFECT). I… could…. start Digital Devil Saga? NO. NO STARTING NEW GAME. BAD. I would play Mario Galaxy, but the Wiimote doesn’t really reach from the bike. The bluetooth works fine, but not teh motionness. Mario Galaxy would be perfect, too. Can start and stop that any time. I could play Mario 64. ‘Cause I’m awesome. HMMM THINK THINK THINK.
[1:06pm]
Decided to play Okami. Just because.
[5:11pm]
Puscifer<3 MJK rocks my world.
[10:39pm]
This doesn’t matter to anyone who reads this blog, really, but I’m deleting my MySpace within the next couple of days. Fyi. Yeah. Woo.

Honestly, I have no clue how the midterm went. I did study pretty hard for it and I’ve prepared myself up for disappointment so it won’t be so awful when I get the results back. I like to think I’m smarter than some of the people in that class, but after that test, I dunno. How depressing.
Cam and Danny came over after school. Hung out and played Brawl for an hour and then went to the mall for dinner and met Chris there by surprise. Then met up with Kel and Amber and after a while headed to Grand 10 to see Quarantine. It was how I expected it to be. The entire theater laughed when the camera guy killed one of the things with his camera. It was a lawl moment. Took Amber and Kel home and ever since we’ve pretty much been Brawling. Though we just stopped.
That’s all.
I’m pretty tired.

I am going to do poorly on my Japanese midterm tomorrow.
And the worst part is that I have been studying.

I’ve decided that my next laptop will be an Alienware.
Yep. Def.
Sarika, Tyler and I were in a city square of some sort in a big crowd listening to this Indian guy, who was standing on an elevated stage-type thing, named… Raj something, giving a big speech. I don’t know what it was about, but that’s what he was doing. Snaking through the crowd was Daniel Craig, who was hunting the three of us down. Apparently, we had killed his partner or something and he was hunting us down for revenge. So we saw him coming and thought that we should take off since y’know he was trying to kill us. Apparently we worked at a newspaper/journalism thing, so we went to the building (which I distinctly remember being made completely of brick) to hide. When we got there, we realized that it probably wasn’t the best place to be because he was a professional and would know where we were hiding. So right as the back door rang, we decided to take off in my little yellow sportscar (wut?), while our boss went to the back door to answer it. But! There was a bomb at the door and it exploded and blew up half the building when our boss opened the door. D’aw.
So we drove around for a while (there were places involved but I just can’t remember) and ended up finally going to Tyler’s aunt’s house. And for some reason she lived in the bayou, which was surrounded by marsh and docks. We hung around there for a while until we heard a car pull up and got freaked out so we figured we should take off before he comes to kill us, so we do. Then we didn’t know where to go, so Tyler suggested that we go to this neighborhood that was really convoluted to navigate through (there was also a giant science university type thingy there). The neighborhood was like really… ordered and pristine and kind of creepy. Anyway, we got to the university and climbed like eight flights of stairs and reached this semi-circular lab. In the center was the labratory equipment, the flat part of the room had the door and the curved part of the wall was just a bunch of lockers. Tyler walked up to one of the lockers, opened it and walked in. We followed him in and closed it behind us and it turned out (even though they had no mirrors on them) that the lockers acted like a two-way mirror, so we could see everything that was going on in the lab from this hidden lecturing room/lounge. In the room was an old professor that Tyler knew (kind of looked like Einstein and Harry Potter mixed together) and he had a little chat with Tyler asking what we were doing there, etc. He said we could hide out in the room as long as we wanted (which had couches and a stairwell off to the side). At this point Tyler just disappeared from the dream. I dunno where he went. Just then, a class came into the lab and started using it, so we knew we’d be safe from that side ’cause… Daniel Craig wouldn’t risk exposing himself like that. Where we were sitting (by the window), Sarika and I pulled out our laptops and… did laptop stuff, I don’t know why, someone was trying to kill us, but whatever. Anyway, we could still be seen from the stairwell windows, so we freaked out. left our laptops there and hid underneath one of the staircases (it formed the wall for that part of the room, but you still had to go through a door to get to the stairs). There we were completely out of sight and safe, and could look out the window to outside which, despite climbing eight flights of stairs, was at ground level. So we could see our yellow car and his black car. Anyway, a class started coming down the stairs (for some reason they were all girls) and coming into our room. At the end of the stream of girls, we saw a black boot step on the highest stair that we could see and then I woke up.
There was way more going on in that dream and way more details that I remember (like the actual car rides and conversations and stuff) but I can’t remember them enough to write them down.
Awesome dream.
Daniel Craig. Assassin extraordinaire.
