This is how Dawn studies kanji. And even after all those hours of studying, a lot of the kanji STILL escaped me on the test. Mainly because I think I focused too much on the old chapters. Though when she was talking, she made it sound like there were going to be actual questions based on the old chapters. So that’s silly.

I bought IRON MAAAAN today.

I stole the last piece of pie. Muaha >;3

House tonight. :D

I wonder if I can convince Mum to watch Iron Man tonight. I really want to watch it again and I don’t want to wait until the weekend. D:

SARIKA. I MISSED YOU TODAY. IT WAS DISTINCTLY SARIKALESS. Tomorrow ;3

In exchange for Sarika, though, I got to see Tyler, which was nice. Because Tyler is teh funny and win.

Got to deposit my gramma’s cheque today. Muaha monies ;3 I’m still piss poor though.

That’s all for now.

[9:31pm]

lol I feel naughty. “Before He Cheats” is on my iPod. Hush, I’m allowed to like a couple country songs here and there. Only a couple. Worst part is even this song talks about a pickup and says the word “Louisville”. I AM FALLEN FROM GRACE. Fer srs. I think that brings the total number of country songs on my iPod to three (“Not Ready to Make Nice” by Dixie Chicks, “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood and “One Voice” by Billy Gilman <– makes me AWESOME. I wish I sang like that when I was friggin’ 10 or 11).

I am SO EXHAUSTED. And have done no homework since I got home. Just too tired.

[11:04pm]

LOL. This bear in… Brampton I think? PULLED OPEN a Subway door and came in. The employee hid in the bathroom. Then he pushed it back open and left.

Just black out, wake up foreign, wander home.

I feel so stupid. Words do not express the depth of how awful I feel tonight.

Sighs and butterflies. Flutter by, farewell.

So Steph, I think we’ll be okay for our papers. While we may be focusing on the same section, I’m going to be pulling interconnections from the middle and end of canto iii as well as from canto vi. So while we may be saying the same thing (I hope what we say is a little similar >.> otherwise one of us is understanding horribly wrong?) I’m sure we’ll be connecting it with different things. I hope. <.<

Anyway, my goals for today are getting this essay either done, or mostly done. Even half done. It’s only a 1000 word essay, which is easy peasy, and I actually like the subject matter so I’m sure it’ll be good. And hopefully I don’t have to use Hamilton’s notes because I don’t know how to cite them and she said we have to cite them separately…? I don’t know. Whatevs.

I was so tempted to play a game of Warcraft this morning. No! Work!

Oh yeah. My loan papers came on Friday. -.- So now I have to go to the post office in Kelowna and send them off, then wait even LONGER for it to arrive and for them to deposit the money in my account. I hate the government. And snail mail.

[11:43am]

This Spenser paper is going to be way over the word limit >.>

[3:32pm]

Friggin’ Cam and his Emilie Autumn. Now I can’t stop listening to “Marry Me“.

[5:18pm]

Finished my essay :D It’s going to need a readthrough one more time for editing and such before I hand it in, but the bulk of it’s done! And I only went over by 154 words. =D I’m kind of afraid that I didn’t do the assignment properly ’cause I focused a lot on the interconnecting passages, but.. well, whatever.

Now I have to devote my time to studying Japanese for the kanji test on Tuesday ;-;

[8:18pm]

lol.

Mom made eight apple pies and two apple crisps. Good God the kitchen smells delicious.

[11:52pm]

This weekend, I started and finished a play by Shakespeare, I read the second half of Faerie Queen Book I, I wrote an essay and I copied out all the kanji up to and including chapter 13 so I can study it at school without bringing my textbooks.

How do I feel? Tired, exhausted, in pain (I’m actually in pain from hunching over the desk for so long and my hand hurts from the writing), and like I accomplished nothing. I got all this shit done this weekend, and I don’t feel a damn bit too good about any of it. I still have a massive amount of studying for Japanese to do, I still need to even start Midnight’s Chidlren which will be a task in itself, I have to whip my Shakespeare group into shape and figure out what scene we will be acting out so that I can start to work on memorizing it, I need to start thinking about my Poco London essay, as well as what I’m going to do for my Shakespeare essay, I technically need to have Book II of the Faerie Queene read for tomorrow and I haven’t even started it, I have to start thinking about reading the next play for Shakespeare since we are apparently doing a play a week, Stephanie and I have to pick out our seminar topic and then actually write it, Sarika and I have to read When We Were Orphans a little early so that we can start our seminar prep on that… On top of all this, I’m running out of money, but I can’t work because I literally have no time. Maybe if I wasn’t doing three Englishes I could work. I don’t know if my stupid loan will get processed fast enough before they start charging me interest. I hope to God it does.

There is very little about my life that is good right now. I think if I didn’t hang out with the group during school, I’d go crazy.

[12:09am]

FUCK. EVERYTHING. That essay I spent my day writing? Yeah, she pushed the due date back five days. I had an extra weekend to write it. I could have studied Japanese today. I could have read FQBII. I could have done anything else. UGH.

Titus Andronicus is brutal. Not like hard-to-understand brutal, brutal as in hey-let’s-cut-her-hands-and-tongue-off-and-rape-her brutal. Damn, Shakey.

[4:47pm]

“Revenge the heavens for old Andronicus!” read to the the latter portion of the first 45 seconds of “Sollente Pi” (E.S. Posthumus). Fucking EPIC.

[4:59pm]

CRAIG CUT HIS HAIR OFF.

/apocalypse

[5:39pm]

Finished Titus Andronicus. I feel like I just read a horror epic. Then again, it’s a tragedy, so of course mostly everyone had to die. But seriously? Some fucked up shit going on there.

Grr, I wish he would post the quiz so I can take it while it’s still fresh in my mind.

Part of me really wants to start on my Spenser essay. But I’m having motivational issues. I have a kanji test on Tuesday that I need to study for. And I need to get started on Midnight’s Children. The rest of me just wants to play Warcraft.

[5:51pm]

It has come to my attention that Book II of The Faerie Queene is technically due on Monday. I should probably go finish reading the first book now. -sigh- I thought I wouldn’t have to worry about reading FQ for a while so I could just work on the essay. Guess I’ll go do that now then.

[12:02am]

Dear world,

PMS is a syndrome (pre-menstrual syndrome). Not an attribute. Learn you some biology. School will make me crankier and more emotional than my period ever will. Ever. And that’s saying a lot.

UIGHOAIHFSODFHHGUDFH.

Okay. So before I left for school today, I was like, y’know what would be awesome? If my one and only class today was cancelled for some reason. That would be cool. So I checked my email rather casuallly just in case she did for some reason cancel. Nothing. I was kind of expecting that. I was just hoping. So I take the 8:15 bus this morning because I think, hey, I need to write my prospectus, this would give me a little more time. So I catch the 8:15 bus, we get to Queensway early enough to catch the 97, we see Jason on the bus which is strange, everything is hunky dory, I go to the library. Well, Cam has a class with Gustar (the woman who teaches my one and only class today) first thing this morning (9:30). So I’m sitting here in the library, doing some Japanese homework when, alluva sudden, I see Cam walk by. Now I’m thinking, “What?” and then he comes and is like, “Guess what?” I feel SO CHEATED. Gustar is sick. My one and only class for the day has been cancelled. She sent out the email at 8:19 this morning. My bus left at 8:15. Now, normally, I take the 9:30 bus at Stevens on Tuesdays and Thursdays ’cause it gives me an extra hour of sleep but still gets me up early enough to do some homework before class. But today, since I had lots to do, I thought I’d take the 8:15 to give myself an extra hour to do things this morning. If I had taken the 9:30 instead of the 8:15 today, I would have seen the email in time to not leave the house. And I would be at home right now.

WHY?

どうして?!なぜですか?!

元かない!

So upset I’m yelling in another language because it sounds more epic and angry!!!

Anyway. I’ve decided to stay here and do some work until 2, when my class was supposed to have started, and then I’ll head home with Cam and Sarika I guess.

J-blog and prospectus, here I come.

[1:35pm]

Finished my Japanese blog and quizzes, haven’t actually done anything for my prospectus, though. I’ve been thinking about it, looking for things I can write about and such. I checked out the sample questions or whatever on the syllabus and don’t really much care for any of them. I’m thinking of maybe doing the women thing like Sarika. I mean, he must expect some of the same topics coming in and that’s a pretty big one, so I’m sure lots of other people will write on it. It’s just I seriously can’t think of anything else. Luckily, it isn’t due until midnight tomorrow, so I’ve got tomorrow/evening to work on it.

My family should be getting home soon I think. Merf.

Once I finish my prospectus, I should start reading Titus Andronicus. Then Midnight’s Children since I had a gander at it and it looks like it will be VERY tiresome to read.

Anyway. Time to piss like a racehorse and wait for the bus.

[7:05pm]

Nyac the otter died. Nooo :( (One of the otters at the Vancouver Aquarium that held hands with the other one).

I had a glorious 2.5 hour nap.

[10:02pm]

I’m so fucking frustrated with this prospectus, I could cry. Seriously, I can feel it there welling up to come out, but my desire to THINK of something has overpowered my desire to cry. I seriously can’t do this. This is so retarded.

I hate university. I was never thrilled to go in the first place. I feel like I’m paying for punishment.

Steph just reminded me that our Spenser essay is due next week. Great.

I am miserable. Truly, completely miserable.

Might as well bitch about more things. I’m feeling particularly fat this week. But can I exercise? OF COURSE NOT BECAUSE I’M STUCK DOING SCHOOLWORK. SOMETIMES I REALLY, REALLY, HONESTLY TRULY CONSIDER SWALLOWING A BOTTLE OF VICODIN.

I just want to fucking sleep. And to stop coughing.

God do I want to stop coughing so badly.

I have a huge craving to read some fantasy books. Oh man.

[8:56pm]

Oh man, Bones today was full of revealing information. ZACK YOU ARE SO DUMB-UH. Actually, I guess he’s smart. In a dumb way.

50 pages until I’m done Small Island.

[10:03pm]

Annnnnd finished. Y’know, it was actually a pretty good read. I actually enjoyed the story. It was just long. Reading a 530 page book in a week with three other classes is a huge time crunch. Anyway. I’m super glad I’m finished (not super glad that Midnight’s Children is next, though). Which reminds me- Sarika, we need to read the Black Atlantic article by Gilroy for tomorrow, too. I’m not sure if it’s on the test, but the way she has it laid out, it looks like it might be. It’s on Vista. Don’t worry, it’s only two pages. I’d print it out, but of course, our printer isn’t working for some stupid reason. @_@

Well. I’m done doing school shit for the day. I refuse to do more. So… I guess it’s time to clean the house. Oi.

We just listened to “O Fortuna” in Shakespeare class. Officially my most favorite class EVER.

[9:49am]

XD He just stopped talking in the middle of his lecture, stared out the window, and was like, “Oh my god! They’re tearing up the soccer field.” Bahahahahaha.

[10:03am]

Oh Lawrence.

“And he’s in pain because he’s being run over by a giant wheel with a goddess on it.”

“I’m sorry this is kind of grotesque- well, actually the fist one is kind of cute but the second one’s pretty bad.”

“King Lear says in… well… um, King Lear, since apparently he doesn’t say it in Hamlet…”

“After I show you instruments of torture, nobody wants to volunteer? That’s bizarre.”

[6:53pm]

Tamar Gogel died on September 15th (last Monday).

Ummm. Well. I don’t actually have much to say. Things have been good. Cam, Danny and I have been having good times. We tried to play a 3-way Heroes 3 game on… Friday night? Yeah, Friday I think, but we came to the realization that it takes a long time to play one day with three human players. Especially when Cam hadn’t played the game for a million years and was relearning. After like two months or something we gave up. Actually, conveniently, when we decided to give up, Cam’s computer booted him from the game so it was all good.

I downloaded Warcraft III yesterday. I had been meaning to download it for… well, about two years (ever since I saw Shane playing it when him and Trece came up for Christmas a couple years ago) but I just never got around to it. Danny plays it a lot, so I got inspiration again. I played it a little bit last night. It was pretty funny ’cause I couldn’t really remember Warcraft II very much (though we do have a copy of the game that will run on XP) and what I did remember didn’t really carry over to Warcraft III (other than like… peons XD). Danny was surprised to find out that there were only Humans and Orcs in W2, whereas there are Humans, Orcs, Undead and Night Elves in W3. ANYWAY. I tried Night Elves and Undead last night, since they were different from the usual and I had never tried them before. Kind of failed both times ’cause the game moved a little quickly and it was hard to get used to the brand new buildings and units. Buuuut playing it a couple of times really helped. I played two more games today, both times being Night Elves ’cause… c’mon… THEY’RE TREE PEOPLE AND BUILDINGS and Dawn is a hippie. I also love the fact that I can uproot the buildings and move them. It makes expanding my borders a lot easier and cheaper. Not that I tend to have any resource problems. I’ve finally gotten the hang of all the buildings and units. First game I had an easy computer ally so I could figure out buildings and shit, second game it was just an easy computer and me. I pretty much annihilated the easy computer on my own, so I think I can move on to a normal computer now. I wanna play a game with Danny tonight. I can finally hold my own and be useful. It’d be awesome if we could play with Cam, though that’d probably be unfair ’cause he’d be in the same boat as me (not knowing wtf is going on). ANYWAY WE’LL FIGURE IT OUT.

Well this has been a nice break. Time to go back to reading Small Island. I don’t want to. But I must.

I must also call Shaw tomorrow. I don’t want to, but I have to. Meeeeh.

Oh, and my parents are staying an extra day. So they’re coming home on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Which means Cam and Danny can stay until Wednesday if they’d like. WE COULD WATCH HOUSE TOGETHER AGAIN >.> :D

We had a hilarious experience making Caesar noodle salad last night. We also had chicken. Good times were had. Tonight I’m thinkin’ tortellini. Yuhhh.

I would really much rather play games than read. Or do any homework. Ugh, and my prospectus is due on Friday, too. And my blog comment is due Tuesday. And another blog is due Friday. And Small Island and an article is due for Thursday. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan. MAAAAAAAAN. I haven’t even thought about my prospectus. >.<

K read now.

[2:06pm]

P.S. Booked rooms for this week. We are in 223 every day except Monday. I couldn’t get it, so we’re in 221 tomorrow (Monday).

Actually, I took it one step further. We are booked for the next two weeks, since they let you go so far in advance.

[2:32pm]

This made me chuckle quite a bit (spoken by a newly immigrated Jamaican woman in London circa 1948):

‘I’m sure someone inside will help you with this, dear. Just ring the bell.’ He mouthed the last words with the slow exaggeration I generally reserved for the teaching of small children. It occurred to me then that perhaps white men who worked were made to work because they were fools.

[4:13pm]

Best opening to a phone call ever:

Looks at phone. Oh, I seem to have missed four calls. It was probably Danny trying to get a hold of me when I was in the shower. I should call him back.
Calls Danny.
Danny: FINALLY, WOMAN. If you were my wife, I’d beat you! I wish you were pregnant so I could beat your belly!
Me: HAHAHAHAHAHA I’M SORRY.

Eight times funnier when actually heard. Especially with the Mexican accent.
